Dayle and her 4x4 Fat Book Page

Image
A couple of posts back you might remember my mention of the Paper Imagery Designs Image sheets made up of images designed by the design team. You can read that post here and find a link directly to the images sheets there also. Well today Dayle posted some of her 4x4 fatbook pages for our swap and what did I see??? Dayle used one of my images from the Design Team Sheet. Here is a picture of the 4x4 page she made using it.   Her 4x4 pages are beautiful! And look how sweet my image looks on top of her technique. Thank you Dayle!   Technorati Tags: Design Team Image Sheets , 4x4 fatbook

Fabric Beads & PID 4x4 Swap

Image
On the Yahoo group we have a couple of swaps going. One of them is a 4x4 technique/Vintage Valentine swap. I finally finished my pages. They were done  last week but I ran out of ink for my printer and it took me a couple of days to get some so I could print out my instructions for the back. Here is a picture of four of the pages. I don't want to ruin it for the players by showing all of them.   Because this was also a technique swap our decorated page needed to show the technique used. It was very hard for me to get around this and that actually slowed me down as I was trying to keep most of the technique showing. Once I got over that I really got into it.   I'm hosting an inchie charm swap on the group. Here is a picture of some charms I made a couple of weeks ago. These are not the charms for the inchie swap lol but I thought I would share them with you any way.     I'm not sure what I am going to do with these yet. CPS is hosting a charm swap. See t

For a limited time Paper Imagery Designs is offering two sheets of Valentine images created by some of the design team members. These images were created just for these special Design Team sheets . If you've purchased these sheets and make a piece of art using my images please let me know and I will post your artwork to my blog. The images I created are the "be mine" and "precious love".   Chris is a member of the Paper Imagery Designs yahoo group . This weeks challenge is polka dots and hearts. Here is the art work she made using the Valentine image I created for the designer sheets. What a beautiful piece of art she created with my image. Thank you for such a great compliment Chris! You can see more of Chris art on her Timeless Art blog.     Technorati Tags: Paper Imagery Designs , Designer Sheets , Mixed Media art , Timeless Art

Art Journal Page in Progress

Image
Art journaling has had an explosion of interest in the past year. Or at least on the groups I belong to I have seen allot of people becoming interested in it. There are a few blogs out there doing daily prompts and challenge. I really don't know how the people who participate get anything done besides their journal page for the day. I can not finish a page a day and that could be because my art journal is a whopping 8 x 11 inches big. My journal is a cheap sketch book I bought at Borders. I glue music sheets, dictionary pages, book pages, scrapbook paper, tissue paper, dress pattern paper or packing paper to the pages and then depending on my mood I paint, ink or gesso the pages. I usually do about 5 sets of pages at a time. This method reinforces the thin sketch paper so it can take the abuse of painting or inking. It also gives me an interesting background that is ready to go when the mood strikes me to work in my journal. The above picture is from a page that I created using K

Mixed Media Mosaics By Laurie Mika

I just got my hands on a copy of Mixed Media Mosaics Techniques & Projects by Laurie Mika and I have got to tell you this is a great book if your looking to add some dimensional pieces to your mixed media art work.   I've made a few things in the past from polymer clay. It's not a material I reach for when I am looking to add a dimensional piece to my art but that is about to change. Laurie shows you how to make some awesome mosaics using  polymer clay, stamps, inks, paint and pearlx. Her mosaics are beautiful. The book is full of hints and tips. The instructions are clear and there are large pictures showing you each step. I love a book with great pictures and this one has them. I'm not a mosaic kind of person but I can see making some of these projects to use in my mixed media art. Matter of fact I have already made some word tiles and I will be using them for my Paper Imagery Designs design team challenge that will be in the February  newsletter.

Sharon House over at My StoryART has nominated me for the Kreativ Blogger Award. Thank you for the honor Sharon! It sure makes me feel good to know that other artists are enjoying my art work and my blog. I have to apologize to Sharon. You see she nominated me for this award back in November but with prior commitments and the busy holiday season I did not have a chance to get to this until now. Thank you again Sharon!
