Michelle Ward's GPP Street Team Crusade # 41
Life has been crazy for me lately. I am finding it very hard to find time for art these days. And it is a little frustrating to me. It is amazing how a persons life can change so much in less then one year.
It's not that I don't have any ideas or inspiration. It's that I can't seem to find the time to start a project, have it lay out on my table and work on it until I am done. I have been helping out with my grand children as some of you might know already. You can read here about the newest grand daughter Addison who was born in April with some health problems.
My other grand daughter is eleven months old and starting to walk. Hailey is Addison's big sister and will be 4 in a couple of months. I didn't realize how much work being a Grammy was going to be LOL.
So when I saw Michelle Wards GPP Team Crusade # 41 Grid Lock for the month of June I knew I had to do it.. Check out the link above to find out about this and all the other Crusades Michelle has posted.

Here is the double page spread I did in a small hand bound art journal I made. The journal is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 .
I don't use scrapbook paper in my art that much but I thought Michelle's grid challenge would be the perfect way to use scraps from the papers I have used over the past year. What you see is pretty much all of the scrapbook paper I have used except for holiday prints.
To fill in some of the blank squares of the grid I cut some "stamp" images from a sheet of K & C Company 12 x 12 Collage Embossed Paper.
I distressed the edges of the papers with Ranger Distress Ink, added some doodles with a white paint pen and stamped the centers of some of the squares with stamps.
I felt the words EXPLORE and ADVENTURE were appropriate for this challenge so I stamped them on.
The challenge was so simple but so satisfying to me. It was just what I needed this weekend.
Thanks Michelle for posting these challenges! I don't get to join in each month but do read almost each one. Thank you for being so generous and sharing your wonderful techniques each month.
