Alphabet Background Repost & A Happy Day

First let me tell you all that my oldest daughter Megan got married today. Congrats Megan & Scott. I hope you have a long and happy life together. If you'd like to send them a card email me and I'll send you their address. I know Megan would love to receive a congratulations card. Money's been tight around here so we won't be able to do anything for the newlyweds.

It looks like blogger is up and running so I can post the background I mentioned in my last post. So here it is.
I really love the way the colors look on this background and as I stated in the earlier post this is no where near my usual color scheme. I really didn't have any idea what I was going to do with this so I cut it into ATC's.
My mother in-law has just started making ATC's and I usually supply her with the backgrounds. I'm sure she'll like a few of these.
Tomorrow we are off to a local stamp store for an ATC swap. I don't usually make ATC's unless I am in a swap so I don't really have anything to swap so I am going just to get out and meet some new people.
To make this background I glued strips of vintage music sheet onto a piece of watercolor paper. Then I took some Ranger Distress Pads and smeared them around. I then misted it with a spray bottle just enough to get the inks to bleed and blend a little. I used a paper towel to blot up some of the excess water/ink. After it was dry I then took some alphabet stencils and used the same distress inks for the letters. I also use a black and olive green stazon inks for the black and green letters.
As I said earlier I cut this sheet up into ATC's but I think I am going to make another one and try to use it in a piece of art.
Have a great weekend! Comments welcome.
