Altered By Me

This weeks challenge on the Paper Imagery Designs yahoo group is doodle. I am not sure if the 4 x 4 above qualifies for doodling but it is my version of a doodle. I painted a piece of watercolor paper and used a stencil on top of the paint. I placed the stencil on the center of the 4 x 4 and loaded a wide regular paintbrush with 2 colors of acrylic paint. When I say regular paint brush I mean the small 3 inch cheapo brushes you buy when you are painting your house. I then pounced the paint over the stencil. Then I took the stencil and turned it over onto one of my art journal pages and rolled a brayer over it. This is a cool technique to getting a layered look to your journal pages. I stopped over at Michelle Wards GPP Street Team blog to see what the current challenge was and was happy to see that the topic of Crusade 28 was Portion Control. ( Go check it out to see what it's all about.) I knew I had to do this one because I have a terrible time covering up anything in my artwork if I like the way it looks. This was a great way to push myself outside my comfort zone into using a new technique. Here are two journal pages I made for the challenge. Well I have been having a hard time with blogger this week. Finally......... I am able to make a post. Woo Hoo! Have you checked out the Paper Imagery Designs website lately. There are so many new goodies. Melissa just added a slew of new image sheets. Some of which are halloween images. We are having a great time on the PID yahoo group ; mingles, swaps, techniques, and challenges galore. I've never seen such a fun and friendly group of ladies as we have in the yahoo group. I also can't forget that Lori + Mel like to throw a few contests in there every once in awhile. Ya never know when they are going to be giving away goodie bags and free image sheets. Oh and Lori is having an anniversary give away.
