Art Journaling

Image
I have been busy with the grandchildren and I am not getting enough art time for myself but this past weekend I had a chance to work in one of my art journals. This journal is a hand bound journal I made using a old book cover and recycled scrapbook paper. The scrapbook paper is the heavy white paper you find in those older scrapbooks. I like to prepare my background pages in advance. So what I will do is gesso the pages and then paint them. I usually have about eight pages ready to go. Then when I feel creative I don't have to wait for the paint to dry on the backgrounds. Thanks for looking Arlene

A Cardboard Journal Question

Linda from Italy said... ""I like it. and the flowers are made by hand with black pen? Your work is collage or has transfered images in it? thanks and compliments."" By the way I loved your Alice in Wonderland collage. Here is the link for anyone interested in checking it out. http://clochart.blogspot.com/ Hi Linda thanks for reading my blog and asking a question. The flowers were made by stamping black stazon ink with a flower stamp on top of a background I made and cutting them out. For the background I used Ranger distress inks on a sheet of music. I smeared the ink pads around and then spritzed with a water bottle and let dry. All of the images are collaged on to each page of my journal. Added Feature . I'm not sure how many none english speaking people visit my blog but I have decided to add a translator to my blog for those that do visit. I know I apprecitate the feature when I run across an artists blog in another language that gives me the option....

Alphabet Background

Wow it has been over a month since I have made a post. Sorry but I have been busy working on a few things. A few things that are going to be submitted to a magazine or for publication in a book so I am sad to say that I can't share a picture yet. Apparently there is a problem with blogger so I will have to come back at another time to post the background picture. Check back soon!! I have been playing around making backgrounds with some letter stencils. I made this background using those stencils and some of Ranger Distress Inks. It is way out there when it comes to my color palette. I usually work in much more muted colors. I love the way it turned out though.
